This is mainly because there are many students who obtain high grades in STPM/ Diploma will apply and compete for popular programmes especially in Engineering and others.

No "Merit" Consideration for Entry
Unlike UPU, the application through the Direct Channel does not require the consideration of the applicant's merit points as a prerequisite for admission. Students only need to meet the minimum entry requirements of the programme as set by the respective university.
